Testimonials

As a parent, I was a four-year member of the initial School Governance Council for Norwalk High School. Additionally, I taught 7th and 8th grade Earth and Life Science for three years as I awaited a USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training position.

My enjoyable teaching experience continued, in the USAF, as I was the founder and first commander of the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center. We had an extensive interview process for hiring rather than unit members being assigned.

Upon my retirement, I was the Vice President of Operations for a Worldwide B747 airline. I am fully aware of Don’s pursuit of educational success towards professional growth and his continuing quest for the acquisition of productive educational goals at the highest levels of achievement, as documented.

I have been associated with Don for the past 12 years on both a professional and personal level which provided me with an opportunity to observe his level of professionalism as a platform teacher and to become fully acquainted with his personal life. Don’s integrity in both disciplines is beyond reproach.

He has served as the Aerospace Science Department Chair at Norwalk High School. And as the Communication Department Chair and Teacher of college students for the College of Professional Military Education. I view Don as an analytical thinker and that ability has resulted in his promotion to leadership positions in his civilian and military areas of responsibility.

Don works well with all constituents, including students, staff, parents, and the community. His experiences in the classroom, along with his roles as former department chair and current program manager for the Aerospace Science program, have provided him with a solid foundation.

He is a lifelong learner, who volunteers for leadership positions including roles in the School Governance Council and School Safety Committee. He seeks opportunities to stay abreast of the latest educational initiatives and shares his knowledge with his colleagues.

Don is an accomplished professional who has enjoyed success as a proven leader in a myriad of settings including the Military, Business realm, and most recently in education. His work ethic, discipline, and collaborative nature have enabled him to transcend the role or task at hand and enact positive change regardless of the setting.

I witnessed Don create several new initiatives as a member of the safety committee. He has left an indelible impression on me as a caring and compassionate leader and visionary.

Dr. Dan S. Assistant Principal, NHS

Don has demonstrated leadership initiative in creating the 911 Remembrance Ceremony at Norwalk High School, and the Annual Coat & Hoodie Drive for the Norwalk Open-Door Shelter collecting more than 5000 items since its inception.

He is leadership initiative was demonstrated in the creation of TeachersMeet.com a mentoring platform for educators of which I'm a founding mentor.
